Huw is an accredited Exercise Physiologist and Strength and Conditioning specialist working out of Aspire Fitness and Rehabilitation (AFR). He has both a Masters degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Bachelors degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from the University of Queensland. He has worked with and mentored under industry leaders when he was a member of the high performance department of the Brisbane Lions AFL Club as an assistant strength coach. Huw has also been involved in other High Performance departments at The Qld Reds Rugby Union Academy, The University of Queensland Sport Academy (UQ Rowing, UQ Swimming, Australian Wheelchair Rugby) and Qld Samoa Rugby Union.
He thoroughly enjoys helping athletes reach their potential providing his expertise in strength and conditioning to all levels from amateur representatives to elite athletes at national and international level across a number of different sports including AFL, rowing, rugby union, rugby league. touch football, swimming, soccer, cricket, archery, fencing, gymnastics, cycling and Crossfit.Huw specialises in delivering rehabilitation services to athletes post surgical intervention with a focus on return to high level sporting performance. He believes in using rehabilitation as an opportunity to build athletic capacity, focus on improving weaknesses and returning a better athlete. This includes working with athletes in the mid to late stage rehabilitation process providing a collaborative approach by integrating with doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists and other allied health care professionals for the best outcome possible.

Huw is passionate about working with athletes from all levels to develop individualised strength and conditioning plans to build athletic performance. These are aimed at developing strength and power, enhancing functional movement patterns, addressing dysfunction to help athletes minimize injury risk and optimise their performance. He also strongly believes in practicing what you preach living by a holistic approach to health and performance focusing on four main elements of Movement, Nutrition, Lifestyle and Mindset.
